Novo registo de Phil Collins, "Plays Well with Others"

Havia rumores sobre uma caixa de colaborações de Phil Collins com outros artistas desde a campanha "Take a Look at Me Now" (outra caixa), lançada em 2015. E tais rumores revelaram-se verdadeiros: no passado dia 28 de Setembro foi lançada uma caixa com 4 discos e um total de 59 temas, intitulada "Plays Well with Others". O título é proveniente de uma T-Shirt oferecida a Phil pelo seu baterista Chester Thompson. Esta caixa apresenta 3 discos de material de estúdio, mais ou menos por ordem cronológica e um 4º CD com faixas ao vivo.

Um projecto como este nunca poderá considerar-se completo, especialmente quando toca a alguém como Phil Collins, que ao longo dos anos já tocou ou colaborou de alguma forma com imensos artistas. "Plays Well with Others" é um registo que se pode considerar inovador, mesmo sendo uma espécie de compilação: apresenta temas cantados por Collins a solo ou em duo, mas na maioria são outros artistas aqui representados e com os quais Phil colaborou, fosse escrevendo o tema em questão ou tocando bateria. E vai desde 1969 a 2011, ou seja, apresenta Phil Collins nas suas bandas: Flaming Youth, Brand X e Genesis.

Este projecto faz lembrar em parte o último lançamento dos Genesis, a compilação "R-Kive", a qual, para além de apresentar temas da icónica banda, ainda continha faixas a solo dos seus últimos e antigos membros: Phil Collins, Steve Hackett, Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks e da banda formada por Mike Rutherford, os Mike + The Mechanics.

Neste registo, podem encontrar-se temas cantados por grandes artistas como Laura Pausini, Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, Bryan Adams, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton, John Cale, Brian Eno, Adam Ant, Philip Bayley, Robert Plant, Chaka Khan, Al Di Meola, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Bee Gees, Annie Lennox, Band Aid ou Tony Bennett.
